The brainchild of Bryn Carey, Ski Butlers was conceived in 2004 in a garage in Park City. The successful business now has 18 locations, serving over 44 resorts in North America and Europe. This unique ski rental delivery service reserves passion for their customers, partners, and team members, but also for the mountains. Snow and climate change, the ubiquitous connection, have remained in the forefront of every business decision from the beginning for Bryn.
With every order, Ski Butlers asks the customer if they would like to round up their total amount to donate to Protect Our Winters (POW), a nonprofit of professional athletes that educates and advocates toward positive climate action. Ski Butlers has also committed to 100% renewable energy at all 18 locations by 2020, as well as all electric vans by 2025, the first of which is due to arrive in November.
Ski Butlers’ Sidewinder building currently utilizes solar, LED lights, Smart thermostats, low-flow toilets, and electric hand dryers in the bathrooms. The business recycles about everything possible, incentivizes employees who use alternative transportation for work, and is working towards paperless waivers. In many ways, Ski Butlers is just getting started.
The climate change cloud is daunting and Bryn wants to stay ahead of it as a model to others in the industry. Thank you, Ski Butlers, for your earnest and impressive commitment to our mountains.
