Join Recycle Utah for our free Composting Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, August 15, at noon at the center. Bring your lunch with you and we’ll have some snacks available as well.
Yard and food waste composes approximately 30% of the material sent to the landfill each year. Composting uses a small amount of water and oxygen to decompose this waste, turning it into a nutrient-rich fertilizer.
This workshop will provide information on what materials can be composted and the supplies needed to maintain it, as well as tips to keep compost piles fresh and active. Additionally, we’ll discuss the many benefits of composting, including saving valuable landfill space, reducing waste, and improving soil structure.
Please RSVP to email@example.com to attend the Composting Lunch and Learn. If you are planning on attending, we ask that you park outside of the Recycle Utah parking lot (on the street, in the gravel lot next door or in a nearby business lot). The center is very busy during lunch.
Recycle Utah offers 55-gallon composters and kitchen carriers for purchase at their recycling center, located at 1951 Woodbine Way in Park City. All attendees will receive a 10% discount on composters. For more information on composting guidelines and benefits, visit recycleutah.org.
