2017 100 Mile Meal Farm Feature: Heber Valley Milk and Artisan Cheese

This August, Recycle Utah invites you to celebrate Summit County’s local food, farms, and economy by joining us at our 2nd Annual 100 Mile Meal. We will be getting back to our roots on a private ranch in Oakley with live music, local wine and beer, and a five-course dinner menu featuring only ingredients sourced from farms within a 100-mile radius of the Recycling Center in Park City. The 100 Mile Meal will be a veritable banquet of good feeling, Summit County community, and mid-summer country charm, with the spotlight on food with a Utah story.

Heber Valley Milk and Artisan Cheese is an award-winning small dairy farm and creamery in Midway. The Kohler family has been producing premium milk for over 100 years and since 2011, now offers a variety of delicious cheeses.

“The secret to Heber Valley Artisan Cheese is premium milk – the perfect base for cheese making – produced by their 150 dairy cows. These happy & healthy ‘gals’ provide the best tasting milk because of their superior care. The cows are grass-fed and roam free in mountain-valley pastures with natural springs.  The Kohler family has also excluded corn and other GMO feeds from their cows’ diet as requested by their local raw milk customers.”

Make sure to join us at the 100 Mile Meal so you can try some of their delicious cheese for yourself! They offer a variety of different cheeses including honey lavender, cinnamon honey, tomato basil, salsa verde cheddar, and more. Learn more at hebervalleyartisancheese.com.
